In January of 2019, four ministry leaders, from three different ministries in central Oregon, asked a question. "What is the biggest challenge facing kid's ministries today?"
Our answer? Special Needs Ministry.
Not only did we see the overwhelming need in our community for such a ministry, we also saw the overwhelming hesitancy of churches to engage this much overlooked part of our community.
This led to the formation of KidMin Connect and the mission to train ministry leaders and volunteers on how to make our churches a safe and inclusive place for everyone.
The All In Conference exists to equip faith communities to
EMBRACE, INCLUDE, and EMPOWER
individuals and families impacted with disabilities.
A vision for the PNW
There is a certain fear associated with special needs ministry in the church. A fear of the unknown. And this is shared by many who are called to share the good news of the gospel.
We have a vision to see the fear and hesitancy of the church towards the special needs community fade away.
Our hope is to see the development of an intern-training program that gives current and future kids and youth ministry leaders, across the PNW, hands-on experience with a focus on special needs ministry. Training that will give them the heart and passion to reach out to the special needs communities they serve, and take away the fear of pursuing it.
